Privacy for HelpCenter.chat

How we handle information in the messenger, app, and marketing website.

Effective 18 September 2026. HelpCenter.chat is provided by HelpCenter Solutions Ltd., Bulgaria, the team behind HelpCenter.io. This notice describes the chat service alongside our company privacy policy.

What the service processes

We process account details, workspace membership, messages, attachments, contact information, and settings to deliver the service. The messenger also records technical and activity information such as pages visited, browser details, and connection events. Information supplied by a workspace or its website can be associated with a visitor profile.

Workspace teams can read and manage the conversations in their workspace. If you use chat on another company's website, that company decides why customer information is collected and how it is used. Contact that company first about its customer records. We handle those records to operate the chat service on its behalf.

Connected HelpCenter.io accounts

When you approve a connection, we store the credentials and account information needed to keep it connected. The app caches selected published, public knowledge articles for messenger search. You can disconnect the integration. The HelpCenter.io dashboard can send a signed customer identifier, name, and email to our support workspace so our team knows whom it is helping.

Hosting and service providers

Website delivery and administrative providers may process technical information outside the hosting region. The Frankfurt location is not a promise that every service provider processes all information only in Germany.

Retention and deletion

Workspace records remain available until deleted or anonymized by an authorized operator or through a support request. Contact anonymization removes identifying conversation content and invalidates related generated exports. Downloadable exports expire after 24 hours. Application logs rotate after 14 days. Recovery backups normally expire after seven days; deletion is not immediate in existing backups. Email copies already delivered cannot be recalled.

If recovery requires an older backup, subsequent deletion requests must be reapplied. We may retain information where required for legal obligations or to investigate abuse.

Browser storage

The app uses session and security cookies. The messenger uses browser storage to maintain its visitor session and conversation continuity. On this marketing site, the messenger loads when you choose “Chat with us.” No advertising pixels or marketing analytics are enabled for this launch.

AI and payments

AI inference and paid checkout are disabled for this first release. We will update this notice before enabling optional AI processing through Amazon Bedrock or paid subscriptions.

Your choices and requests

For access, correction, deletion, export, or questions about our handling of your information, email hello@helpcenter.io. Workspace administrators can export and anonymize contact records. For our own account records, contact our team. The company policy explains applicable privacy rights and how to raise a complaint.
